Abstract
In this thesis several methods were developed for the determination of some antiviral drugs, in their pure form and in their pharmaceutical dosage form. Drugs investigated include Oseltamivir phosphate, Valacyclovir hydrochloride and Acyclovir. HPLC was used for the kinetic study of Oseltamivir phosphate and Valacyclovir hydrochloride in the presence of their alkaline degradation products, also HPLC was used for the determination of Valacyclovir hydrochloride and Acyclovir in the presence of Celecoxib as an internal standard. Spectoflourimetry was applied for the determination of Valacyclovir hydrochloride, difference absorbance spectrophotometry was applied for Valacyclovir hydrochloride. Moreover, spectrophotometric methods were used for the determination of Oseltamivir phosphate and Valacyclovir hydrochloride using Picric acid. Statistical comparison between the results obtained by the proposed methods and that of the reference methods was performed in addition to statistical comparison between the methods
