Abstract

from this study we can conclude that a decreased serum paraoxonase I enzyme activity may be responsible at least partially for the derangement of lipid profile that led to the observed changes in fetal parameters such as non - reassuring biophysical profile, elevated umbilical artery resistance index. As well as neonatal abnormalities such as lowered neonatal birth weight and reduced apgar score. Therefore, it can be concluded that assessment of serum paraoxonase I activity, may be applied among the parameters used in monitoring pregnant women with antiphospholipid syndrome. Decreased PON I activity, with increased oxidative stress and reduction of NO, may be involved in the early phases of APS. Further epidemological investigations are required to study activity of serum paraoxonase I during different gestatinal period on large members of normal and patient with antiphospholipid syndrome
