The diabetic retinopathy disease usually leads to retina revascularization by spreading diabetes on the retina blood vessels and thus they lose blood supply that causes blindness in short time, so early diagnosis of diabetes prevents blindness in more than 50% of cases. The early and at the same time more accurate diagnosis depends mainly on better segmentation of the blood vessels. Because the vasculature tree occupies about 70% or more in the retinal images, the manual segmentation of retinal blood vessels is a long and tedious task which also requires training and skill. So in the last two decades, the process of retinal blood vessels segmentation attracts a lot of research in the medical image processing area for automating this process since it is the critical component of any computer aided diagnosis system of diabetic retinopathy. Glaucoma is a dangerous disease that can permanently damage vision in the affected eye (s), first by decreasing peripheral vision (reducing the visual field), and then potentially leading to blindness if left untreated. Worldwide, glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness. The reduction in the vision field and subsequently blindness occur when glaucoma causes gradual dam - age over long time to the eye{u2019}s retinal optic disc which transmits images to the brain. So the optic disc segmentation in the retinal images is a necessary step in any computer aided diagnosis system of glaucoma
