Abstract

A key challengs in implant treatment in the esthetic zone is to provide patients with crowns and peri - implant soft tissue that are in harmony with the adjacent teeth to restore function and esthetics. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of an immediate loading protocol versus a delayed loading protocol of dental implants placed immediately postextraction, on peri - implant soft tissue preservation in the maxillary esthetic zone. The study was carried out on ten patients with teeth indicated for extraction. They received 10 replant two piece implants. The immediately - loaded group received immediately a provisional restoration after the implant placement. After a period of 6 months, patients of both groups received final porcelain fused to metal crowns. The results of this study revealed that the immediately loaded group reported less midfacial peri-implant mucosa recession and gave a more favorable esthetic outcome over the delayed loaded group. However, the patient`s satisfacting was equal in both groups
