Abstract

This study is Introduces mixed-metals composites as efficient structures for the removal of different sulfur compounds from diesel fuel feedstock. The composites were prepared through the incorporation of three metals oxides using chemical precipitation technique. The structural surface and magnetic properties of the synthesized composites were determined by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), nitrogen adsorption-desorption surface area analysis and magnetization curves. The prepared inorganic structures were next tested in the removal of sulfur species from diesel fuel at different operating conditions. Successful eliminations of sulfur compounds by the composites have been generally achieved under various operating conditions. However, a maximum sulfur removal percentage of 95.5 % could be attuned by one of the introduced composites a reaction time of 90 min, dose of 10 g /L, temperature equals 60o C and H2O2 to feed ratio of 1:1 The elevated desulfurization capacity of this presented composite is explained by its ability to perform simultaneous versatile routs of sulfur removal. Moreover, the distributions of metallic sites along the structure of the composite could enhance its desulfurization efficiency.
