Abstract - Arthrofibrosis of the knee still the most common complication after knee trauma or major surgery. This leads us to investigate the use of arthroscopic arthrolysis and extensive postoperative rehabilitation - Arthrofibrosis is loss of range of motion secondary to intraarticular scar tissue formation. - The best treatment of arthrofibrosis of the knee is prevention. - Surgical technique and timing are very important in preventing extension loss and the potential development of arthrofibrosis. - Before any surgical procedure is performed around the knee, the patient should be notified about this potential complication and associated pathology. Paying meticulous attention to postoperative rehabilitation, and possibly host factors. in order to avoid this problematic complication. - For knee stiffness despite taking these measures, stiffness of the knee may still arise. - Patient who is informed and motivated will aid in the appropriate diagnosis and treatment protocol. - The subject still needs a lot of research regarding its pathology, pathogenesis, and how to dissolve this fibrous tissue. |
