Abstract

Deep over bite with gummy smile can be treated with either single mini screw or double miniscrews after leveling and alignment with the sequence of NiTi arch wire and reached 0.019×0.025-inch stainless steel arch wire. Miniscrew inserted under local anesthesia either between central incisors and it’s favor in patients with deep over bite with gummy smile and retruded incisors or double miniscrews inserted between the lateral incisors and canine and it’s favor in patients with deep overbite with gummy smile and proclined incisors. elastic chain could introduce optimal light force from mini-implant anchorage. The force ranged from (15-20) gm per tooth. CBCT were required from all patients before intrusion and after 6 months. Then, analysis of the linear and angular measurements before and after intrusion by constructed references planes with DDS Pro software. As a result, the amount of intrusion using single miniscrew rates from 0.9 to 1.2mm and the amount of intrusion using double miniscrews rates from 3.1 to 3.6 mm. optimal intrusion could be acquired without external apical root resorption EARR during the active treatment period. The selection of either single miniscrew-supported intrusion or double miniscrew-supported intrusion must depend on the diagnosis, treatment objectives and substantiated with evidence. The collected data was then statistically analyzed and compared for the differences between two groups.
