Abstract For almost more than a century, the Gulf of Suez area had been a sight of many studies by many writers in different aspects. During its genesis, the structural and stratigraphic setting formed significant faults that govern its structural style and thus define its petroleum systems and habitat. This is located in the offshore Gulf of Suez area, and it owned by Gulf of Suez Petroleum Co. (GUPCO), a joint venture company between Dragon Emirates and the Egyptian Petroleum Corporation. The study focuses on the wells of July oil field discovered in 1973, as a result of the exploration activity in the central of Gulf of Suez. In order to conduct the study of four wells were used to achieve the study objectives. The main objective of the study is to calculate the ideal mud weight design in order to avoid the drilling hazard issues especially well control and losses through studying the pore pressure and fracture pressure model for different formations by using well logging data (compressional slowness, density and resistivity ). |
