Abstract Aeromonas hydrophila is a zoonotic pathogen belongs to family Aeromonadceae, it is a facultative anaerobic, non-spore forming Gram-negative bacterium, motile, bacilli or coccobacilli. A.hydrophila considered the most critical zoonotic pathogen of concern. Aeromonas occurs widely in aquatic environments and belongs to the flora of reptiles, amphibians and fish. Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus considered as one of the most important species of fish in tropical and sub-tropical aquaculture. It serves as important sources of animal protein and income throughout the world. In this study, A.hydrophila was isolated and identified from Oreochromis niloticus fish farms and markets by using traditional and molecular technique using A.hydrophila specific primers. On the other side, some of medicinal plant was added to diet of experimental fishes to improve immunity and growth performance. |
