Abstract

The aim of our study was to compare the effectiveness of single visit versus multiple visits regenerative procedure in the regeneration of immature necrotic anterior permanent teeth.
The clinical study included 40 patients of necrotic immature anterior teeth. Cases were divided equally into 2 groups. group I (single visit)and group II (multiple visits). In multiple visits cases(only) teeth were treated by calcium hydroxide paste for 2-4 weeks, followed by induction(both groups) of bleeding into the clean disinfected canals, which were then sealed by white MTA coronal plug then evaluated clinically and radiographically in the follow up periods up to 12 months.
Clinical evaluation included history taking and clinical examination regarding presence or absence of periapical pain, swelling or sinus tract.
Clinical follow up showed that all cases were asymptomatic, functional, and irresponsive to hot test
throughout the follow up period. Some cases experienced mild pain or discomfort for few days postoperatively.
Radiographic evaluation included measurement of change in root length, thickness and apical diameter of standardized radiographs. Data were collected and tabulated for statistical analysis.
GroupI showed no significant different values than group II in the increase in length, dentine thickness and decrease in apical diameter during the 12 months of follow up.
There was significant increase in root length at the end of whole follow up periods in both groups.
There was significant increase in root thickness at the end of whole follow up periods in both groups.
There was significant decrease of apical diameter at the end of whole follow up periods in both groups.
