Abstract Some laboratory and pot experiments were carried out in the Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University, for controlling fusarium wilt disease in tomato plants. These experiments were conducted as follows: - 1- The pathogenicity test of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici (FOL) to determine the most virulent isolate of FOL that would be used in the subsequent experiments. 2- Evaluating the resistance/susceptibility of some common tomato cultivars to FOL under greenhouse conditions to determine the most susceptible one that would be used in the subsequent pot experiments. 3- Testing the in vitro efficacy of several fungicides against FOL. 4- Testing the in vitro efficacy of fungal (Trichoderma harzianum) and bacterial (Bacillus subtilis and Pseudomonas fluorescens) bioagents against FOL. 5- Testing the compatibility of tested bioagents with some efficacious fungicides against FOL. 6- Testing the toxic effect of efficacious fungicides against FOL on seed germination and seedling growth traits of tomato. 7- Investigating the biological control of tomato fusarium wilt disease under greenhouse conditions. 8- Ultimately, study the combined application of fungal and bacterial bio-agents with fungicides as soil drenching or seedling root-tip dipping for integrated management of tomato fusarium wilt. |
