Abstract In recent times, UV photodetectors (PDs) have gained significant attention of researchers around the world, mainly because of their importance in a variety of optoelectronic applications such as flam detection, radar, bio-chemical analysis, optical communication, and others. In this thesis the preparation of Mo-doped NiO using DC/RF sputtering technique was studied and the influence of Molybdenum concentration on the performance of NiO samples was investigated. The fabricated films were analyzed using various techniques before being employed as photodetection process. This thesis includes three chapters: Chapter 1: Provides a general introduction about photodetectors, types, operation parameters, their applications in many fields, the materials that used to fabricate it, and the basic idea of our research, as well as our aim for doing this study. Chapter 2: contains the experimental techniques which used for the preparation and characterization of the fabricated samples such as SEM, XRD, EDX………….etc. These topics will be examined in greater depth. Chapter 3: Includes the practical work of Mo doped NiO thin films, different characterization techniques and discussion. Also, the photodetection experimental work and some computational details. |
