Abstract

Nowadays, it is widely believed that the use of digital transformation leads to achieving a competitive advantage for organizations. However, while there is now the body of evidence to indicate that digital transformation works to achieve high impact across organizations, it remains unclear how digital transformation supports strategic human resource management. The current research aims to bridge this gap by studying the role of digital transformation (as an independent variable) in supporting strategic human resource management as (dependent variable) by applying it to Egyptian commercial banks. This research also sheds light on the mechanisms of digital transformation and their impact on supporting strategic human resources management decisions. In doing so, the current research aims to contribute to literature in the areas of digital transformation, strategic management, and human resources. Using a sample of 399 employees in the human resources sectors in the Egyptian commercial banks, by adopting the quantitative approach and using the questionnaire as a tool to collect the primary data necessary to achieve the objectives of the study and within the framework of analyzing the responses using appropriate statistical methods for the study hypotheses, the study has provided a number of findings and recommendations, which are outlined in the fifth chapter.
