Abstract UGIB is referred to hemorrhaging that takes place in the upper GIT. inside the intraluminal GIT from anywhere among the upper esophagus and the duodenum at the point of the Treitz ligament. The purpose of this research is to assess endoscopic results in patients with acute UGIB and to look into the impact of early endoscopy on the clinical consequences. The study was carried out on one hundred and twenty individuals over the age of 18 who admitted to ED of AMUH with non-traumatic acute UGIB who made UGIE within 24 hours of admission. All patients enrolled in the present investigation, were evaluated as following: 1. Complete history implementing, clinical assessment, laboratory tests, and assessment of risk stratification by using RS. 2. Pre endoscopic management and early UGIE included: endoscopic profile finding and managements. 3. Outcome as: complications during hospitalization were documented. • In the current study, we found that majority of patients were males aged between 40-59 years. • Majority of the patients presented with altered hematemesis and majority of patients had comorbidities as viral hepatitis, HTN, DM, IHD, or CKD. • The mean RR was (16.20±3.61) cycle/min, the mean O2 saturation was (92.39±6.33) %, and the mean pulse was (78.71±15.07) beats/min. The mean SBP was (111.2±18.02) mmHg, and the mean DBP was (74.46±11.28) mmHg. The mean GCS score was (13.46±2.49). |
