Abstract

The current study aimed to estimate response growth characters of gazon grass plant to organic fertilization by compost, humic acid and bio-fertilizer. The experiment was carried out at new Minia city, El-Minia, Egypt during two successive seasons 2017/2018 and 2018/2019.
The obtained results could be summarized in the following points:
- All vegetative parameters, covering density (%), plant height (cm), fresh and dry weights (g/1 m2) were showed high significant response for the different compost, humic acid and biofertilizer treatments of the three clipping in both seasons.
- It was observed that in the two seasons, vegetative parameters, covering density %, plant height, fresh and dry weight gradually increased from the first to second then third clipping regard of compost, humic acid and/or bio fertilizer treatments as a result of adding the treatments before irrigation each of clipping.
- The two levels of soaked compost 2- and 4-liter recorded highest covering density, plant height, fresh and dry weight compared with the control in three clippings in both seasons.
- The high level of soaked compost 4-liter soaked compost recorded highest covering density %, plant height, fresh and dry weight in comparison with the control in the two seasons.
- The combination of humic acid with biofertilizer recorded the highest covering density, plant height, fresh and dry weight of gazon grass in all clippings in the first and second seasons.
- Only biofertilizer treatment gave covering density, plant height, fresh and dry weight higher than humic acid only treatment in all clippings in the 1st and 2nd seasons.
- The interaction between the high-level soaked compost 4-litre and biofetilizer + humic acid gave the highest covering density, plant height, fresh and dry weight of gazon grass in all clippings in the two seasons.
- The interactions between 4-litre soaked compost with only biofertilizer and between 2-litre soaked compost with bio + humic acid recorded high covering density without significant difference in first two clippings in both seasons.
- The three treatments BIO+HA only, 2LSC-BIO interaction and 4LSC-HA interaction gave nearly same high covering density without significant difference in third clipping of first season.
- The interaction between low level-soaked compost 2-litre with biofertilizer and between biofertilizer with humic acid gave average covering density without significant difference of three clippings in 2nd season.
- The interaction of both 4LSC-BIO and 2LSC-(BIO+HA) recorded high covering density with no significant difference in 1st and 2nd clippings compared to each of them alone and the control in 2nd season. Indicating positive effect of humic acid could be contribute with the second half of soaked compost in case of using half level-soaked compost (2-litre).
- Biofertilizer with each of 2 and 4-litre soaked compost gave high plant height with no significant difference. The interactions between 4-litre soaked compost with humic acid only and between 2-litre soaked compost with bio + humic acid treatments recorded high plant height without significant difference between the two interactions in 1st season.
