Abstract

The study was prospective randomized clinical trial (RCT) carried out at Chest Department of Zagazig University Hospitals during the period from October 2015 to October 2017.
The patients were 30 and studied in 2 groups according to whether CPAP was introduced or not as a part of their treatment:
group (1):
Included 15 severe and very severe stable COPD patients in whom CPAP was introduced in addition to Long Term Oxygen Therapy (LTOT) plus conventional treatment. They were (3) females and (12) males, and a mean age of 59.8 ±4.3 years.
group (2):
Include 15 severe and very severe stable COPD patients on Long Term Oxygen Therapy (LTOT) plus conventional treatment. They were (4) females and (11) males, and a mean age of 61.7±5 years.
