Abstract This study was performed to evaluate the efficacy of immune stimulant (Vimolert® ) on aeromonas hydrophila infection in Nile tilapia fish. The evaluation was done by studying the changes in the hematological and biochemical parameters, cellular immune response and histopathological picture. A total number of 150 Nile tilapia fishes (Oreochormis niloticus) of average body weight (55.00±2g) and average total length (10±3cm). Fish were given immune stimulant (Vimolert® ) daily at a dose of 2.5, 3, 3.5 g/100g feed for 4 weeks then infected with aeromonas hydrophila at a dose of 0.5ml (1*107CFU/ml). At the 6 th week of experiment, comparing with control gp. (1), The RBCs count, Hb concentration, Ht value there are no significant changes in groups (3, 4and 5) and showed significant decrease in-group (2). The 2 nd sample showed highly significant increase in the total leukocyte, neutrophil, basophil, lymphocyte and monocyte counts in groups (3, 4, 5). Significant increase in the serum ALT, AST and ALP activities, bilirubin (total, direct and indirect) concentration, urea and creatinine, Significant decrease in phagocytic percent, phagocytic index and lysozyme activity in gp(2). |
