Abstract The complexation of metal ions with ligands is an important aspect of coordination chemistry. In this study, we synthesized three thiazole-guanidine derivative ligands, namely BSG, BSI, and BSP, and investigated their ability to form complexes with Fe(III), Ni(II), and Pd(II) ions. BSG ligand was synthesized by reaction of (othro-aminothiophenol , cyano-guanidine) , (BSI) ligand was synthesized by the reaction of (BSG with ethyl bromo acetate) and BSP ligand was synthesized by the reaction of (BSG with acetyl acetone). The complexes were prepared by reacting the metal ions with the ligands under reflux conditions in a 1:2 molar ratio in case of Fe(III) and Ni(II) complexes and 1:1 molar ratio in case of Pd(II) metal ion. |
