Abstract
Two filed experiments were conducted at the Experimental Farm of Faculty of Agriculture, Minia University, Egypt during two successive seasons of 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 to study the effect of four planting dates, i.e. planting at 15th of October, planting at 1st of November, planting at 15th of November , planting at 1st of December and four plant distribution treatments, i.e. two plants in hill 20cm. apart on one side of furrow 60cm in width, one plant in hill 10cm. apart on one side of furrow 60cm in width, one plant in hill 20cm. apart on both side of furrow 60cm in width and two plants in hill 40cm. apart on both side of furrow 60cm in width and their interactions on growth, yield , yield components and quality under middle Egypt conditions. of newly introduced quinoa grain crop (Chenopodium quinoa, Willd). A randomized complete block design (RCB -D) was used, in a split plot arrangement and replicated three times; planting date was assigned to the main plots, while sub-plots were devoted to plant distribution treatments, In general, it is clear from the previous results, that to obtain the highest seed yield/ fed. of quinoa, highest percentage of protein, lowest percentage of both saponin and moisture in quinoa seeds, quinoa is planted on one plant in hill 20cm. apart on both side of furrow 60cm in width or two plants in hill 40cm. apart on both side of furrow 60cm in width at the first of December under middle Egypt conditions.
