Abstract Programs aimed at educating nurses must include clinical training. Students may feel stressed out because of the difficulties that come within clinical education. Resilience is the capacity to rise above adversity and grow stronger as a result of it. Aim: This study aimed to assess nursing students’ perception of stress and resilience during their clinical training. Design: To accomplish the study’s aim, a descriptive correlational design was implemented. Setting The study was conducted in Faculty of Nursing, Minia University, Egypt. Subjects: A random sample based on stratified sampling technique was selected from the number of students in each of the four academic levels enrolled at Faculty of Nursing - Minia University during the academic year 2022-2023 (n=1233). Data Collection Tools: Data collected through the utilization of two tools: The Perceived Stress Scale and Nicholson McBride Resilience Questionnaire (NMRQ). Results: (64.7%) of the studied nursing students at the four academic levels have moderate level of perceived stress, and (57.8%) of them have an “established level of resilience”. There was high statistically significant negative correlation exists between the total level of stress and the total level of resilience. Conclusion: Nearly two thirds of the studied nursing students at the four academic levels have moderate level of total stress, and, more than half have an “established level of resilience”. High statistically significant negative correlation exists between perceived stress and resilience levels among the studied nursing students. Recommendations: Coping mechanisms and stress management to enable nursing students to manage their scholastic stress and anxieties, seminars must be offered. |
