Abstract In this study, Campylobacter were isolated (182) from (440) broilers and (440) ballade breeds from Dakahlia governorate that were examined (16%) C.jejuni and (4%) C.coli.The rate of recovery of campylobacter from different internal organs showed that high recovery rate was from cloacal swab, heart, liver, then gizzard as the follow 60%, 24%, 10% then 5% respectively C.jejuni and 45%, 30%, 14% then 4% C.coli. Morphologically campylobacter isolates were G-ve, slender spirally curved, the majority of species are motile, they grow at 37-42Co ,they need 5% O2, 10% CO2, and 85% N2, it appear dew DROP like colony on mCCDA media. The isolated campylobacter from chickens were140 C.jejuni and 42 C.coli .API20E system revealed that99% of suspected isoltes were biochemically identical to typical campylobacter features .It was clear that all campylobacter isolates were resistant to Erythromycin, Amoxicillin and Trimmethoprim / sulphamethoxazole.Campylobacter were sensitive to Meropenem and Imipenem. PCR assay was carried out for (C.coli and C.Jejuni) to detect 23SrRNA as common gene for C.spp., hipogene for C.Jejuni, Aspgene for C.coli, betalactamases (Blaoxa), virulencegenes (cadf, flaA), toxinproductiongene (cdtA,Waac, dnaj), MDRgenes (tetA,tetB), using specific primer for each gene.Sequencing of gyrA genefor C.Coli and C.Jejuni . |
