Abstract Limbal relaxing incisions (LRIs) were and still are one of the friendliest and most cost-effective methods of correcting post-phacoemulsification corneal astigmatism and also have no intraocular interference. Therefore, this method is still used to improve the quality of vision by correcting astigmatism at the time or after the cataract surgery. The development of the use of femtosecond laser technology in ocular Surgeries, especially in femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS), and the ability to use it in astigmatic keratotomy procedures with improving the precision of incision parameters (arc length, diameter, and depth of the incision) encouraged many surgeons to do femtosecond laser astigmatic keratotomy in combination with FLACS. LRIs and femtosecond laser-guided astigmatic keratotomies have proven effective in the correction of astigmatism during cataract surgery. Therefore, we conducted our study to compare the two techniques in their ability to correct astigmatism and improve visual acuity after conventional phacoemulsification. |
