This is a case control study. Patients were recruited from Endocrinology unit; MINIA University Hospital from 2022 to 2023.The study included 200 subjects divided into 2 groups including hypothyroid patient group and another healthy control group.
Subjects:-
group І:
It consists of 100 hypothyroid patients on L4 therapy.
group ІI:
It consists of 100 healthy control subjects.
Patients were subjected to:
I.Explaining our study to our subjects.
II.a personal interviewer questionnaire collected from multiple sources and designed to cover the following items:
Personal data, duration of the disease, compliance on treatment, and sources of his information about his disease and medications.
Three parts to assess degree of satisfaction with treatment, quality of life by evaluation of general health state and thyroid related symptoms.
The results of this study revealed that:

II.Illiteracy was common in our hypothyroid group 25% of patients.
III.Most of our hypothyroid patients depended upon their doctors as the main source of information (100% of subjects); some of them choose additional source.
IV.High incidence of incompliance to treatment (16%) of our studied group reported poor adherence to treatment.
V.Most of our hypothyroid patients were moderately satisfied with their treatment about 40 % of our sample.
VI.There was significant difference between our study group and control group in anthropometric measures including BMI.
VII. There was significant impairment in general (SF-36) HRQL aspects.
VIII. There was significant difference between the study hypothyroid group and the healthy control group in all thypro scales which offers a more detailed picture of the course of disease symptomatology
