Abstract This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of using the integration between electronic mind maps and educational quizzes in developing preparatory stage pupils’ EFL vocabulary and grammatical competence. The quasi-experimental design was adopted. Sixty second year preparatory pupils from Bahnas preparatory school, El Wasta, Beni-Suef Governorate, were selected to be the participants of the study. They were randomly divided into two groups, each one included 30 pupils. The treatment was implemented during the scholastic year 2022/2023. The treatment group participants were taught via the integration between electronic mind maps and educational quizzes whereas the non-treatment group received the same course by the regular methods. The instruments were two equivalent pre and post vocabulary tests and two equivalent pre and post grammatical competence tests as well. The results revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the treatment group and non-treatment group in the posttests of both vocabulary and grammatical competence in favour of the treatment group. Besides, the findings showed that the integration between electronic mind maps and educational quizzes had significant effectiveness in developing both vocabulary and grammatical competence.
