Abstract The development of microgrids has been driven by the increasing penetration of renewable energy sources (RESs). Among different types of microgrids, DC microgrids offer several advantages, such as higher efficiency, simple integration with RESs and energy storage units (ESUs), and the absence of synchronization between connected buses or generators. However, the protection requirements of DC microgrids are still challenging. This thesis aims to develop a protection scheme for radial DC microgrids to overcome the existing limitations. |
