Abstract Atopicdermatitis(AD),alsoknownasatopiceczema,isachronicrelapsinginflammatoryskincondition.. IL-37hasbeenidentifiedasfundamentalinhibitorofinnateimmunityandasuppressorofproinflammatorycytokinessuchasIL-1,IL-6,IL-8,IL-17,IL-23,andTNF-α,andIFN-γ. TheaimofthepresentstudywastoassessthealterationofserumlevelofIL-37inADpatientswhichmayfurtherclarifytheimmunepathogenesisandimprovethemanagementofthiscommonimportantskindisease. Thisstudyisacasecontrolstudy,That wascarriedinDermatologyOutpatientClinicofSuezCanalUniversityHospitals,Ismailia,andincluded2groups:(Firstgroup);includedpatientswhohadatopicdermatitis,(Secondgroup);includedhealthyageandgendermatchedcontrolswithoutanyfamilyhistoryorprevioushistoryofclinicalatopysymptoms.SeverityofADwasevaluatedusingSCORAD.Bloodsampleswereexaminedtodetect:CBCwithdifferential,serumIgEandserumconcentrationsofIL-37viaELISAkitsforquantitativeanalysisofIL-37. Inthisstudy,mostofthepatients(92.5%)hadseverAD,7.5%ofthepatientshadmoderateAD.SerumlevelsofIL37weresignificantlyhigherinADpatientsthaninhealthycontrols,andthislevelcorrelatedpositivelywitheachofSCORADandIgEandcorrelatednegativelywithpatients’ageandageofdiseaseonset |
