Abstract The present study is concerned with the geology, petrography, geochemistry, radioactivity and zircon typology of the granitoid rocks at Um Bogma area, south western Sinai, Egypt. The field observations reveal the presence of different granitic masses represented by older and younger granites. The older granites are represented by quartz diorite and tonalite-granodiorite, whereas the younger granites include monzogranite, syenogranite and alkali feldspar granite. Geochemically, the older granites are calc-alkaline, metaluminous and of I-type character. They are suggested to be formed in compressional regime of volcanic arc tectonic setting. |
