Abstract Thirty-two implants were placed in eight patients who had missing all mandibular posterior teeth except first premolars. Four dental implants were inserted in the second premolar and second molar using surgical guide stent. Two implantsin each side to support 3 units screw retained zirconia restorations. Three months after osteointegration, the same patient underwent two implant level impression techniques: Conventional open-tray implant impressions (CII) and digital implant impressions (DII) with TRIOS 3 Shape intraoral scanner. A threedimensional analysis software (Gom Inspect) was used to superimpose Standard tessellation language (STL) files of conventional impressions over STL files of digital impressions to evaluate the accuracy of impressions in color coding map followed by the segmentation method of scan bodies and calculate three-dimensional deviations. |
