Abstract Successful orthodontic treatment is based on dentomaxillofacial radiographic diagnosis. Cephalometric radiography is mostly used to describe the morphology and the growth of facial skeleton, predict growth, treatment planing and evaluate treatment results. However, cephalometric measurements, like all other measurements, involve some errors that are classified as ‘‘errors of projection’ and ‘‘errors of identification’’. The introduction of CBCT in dento maxillofacial radiology almost two decades ago has resulted in a paradigm shift from planar, 2D to volumetric 3D radiographic visualization. CBCT imaging has become a vital role in the field of orthodontics for diagnosis and treatment planning.CBCT imagine provides unique features and advantages to enhance orthodontic practice over conventional extraoral radiographic imaging. The current study was conducted for comparison of conventional and cone beam computed tomography synthetized cephalograms in evaluatin different skeletal patterns. |
