The emergence of electronic musical instruments and devices posed challenges for many educational institutions due to their high cost. However, their prices have gradually decreased over the past twenty years, and they are now available to many educational institutions. This includes Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), which are available for free or at a low cost online. One of these DAWs is FL Studio, which the researcher used to develop the students’ (research sample) skills in composing melodies, harmonic loops, and musical notation.
The study used a single-group experiment with 20 randomly chosen third-year music education students (male and female) from Department of Music Education, Faculty of Specific Education, Assiut University for the academic year (2022-2023). It reviewed the research topic, problem, and procedures, then explored relevant studies, followed by the theoretical and applied frameworks (experiment). Finally, it presented results, interpretations, recommendations, and references.
