Abstract
Statistical results for the mean bone mineral density (BMD) and Z-score of groups II (glucosamine group) and III (zoledronic acid group) revealed no significant difference with group I (the control group). A highly significant reduction was observed in the pantoprazole group (group IV) in comparison to the control group. The mean BMD and Z-score of group V (pantoprazole and glucosamine group) showed no significant difference from the control group. However, the mean BMD and Z-score of group VI (pantoprazole and zoledronic acid) revealed a significant decrease compared to the control group. Both groups V and VI showed a highly significant increase in the mean BMD and Z-score in comparison with the pantoprazole group. However, there was a significant decrease in BMD and Z-score of group VI compared to group V.
