Abstract

In the present thesis, a concentrated solar power (CSP) technology uses a heliostat system to concentrate the sun’s beam energy using mirrors to a solar receiver which converted it into heat energy, and subsequently delivered to a conventional power cycle. High precision solar tracking systems are used to improve the effectiveness of energy conversion, Heliostat accuracy mainly relies on the speed to reach system’s acceptance angle with minimum error.
Our target mainly to design a heliostat system comprehensive optical analysis and ray tracking model using control design, which is applied to check precision of heliostat tracking system. Controller is design based on proportional integral derivative controller (PID) compared with fractional order PID controller (FOPID) to decrease the overshoot for the system.
Controller is tunned using multiple optimization algorithms like Multi-Verse optimization algorithm (MVO), gray wolf optimization algorithm, Sooty Tern Optimization Algorithm (STOA) and White shark Optimization Algorithm, designed system based on computer capabilities to improve the effectiveness of system which are enhancement the system response time.
