Abstract

The thesis is devoted to suggesting new methods for the determination of certain nitrogen-containing drugs, namely: meclizine hydrochloride, atenolol, losartan potassium, remdesivir, linezolid, rivaroxaban, molnupiravir, levofloxacin, and apixaban in raw materials, pharmaceutical dosage forms, and spiked human plasma. The thesis is divided into five main parts:Part I. General introduction about nitrogenous compounds with pharmacological classification of nitrogen-containing drugs.Part II. Two spectrofluorimetric methods were investigated for the simultaneous estimation of meclizine in raw materials, different pharmaceutical dosage forms, and spiked human plasma. A sensitive native spectrofluorimetric method and an ion-pair complex formation with erythrosine B method were applied for the estimation of meclizine hydrochloride in raw material, in pharmaceuticals, and in spiked human plasma.Part III. First derivative synchronous spectrofluorimetric technique was developed for the simultaneous estimation of atenolol and losartan potassium in their combined laboratory tablets and spiked human plasma.Part IV. An HPTLC method was developed and validated for the estimation of remdesivir in the presence of linezolid and rivaroxaban in spiked human plasma. The method was successfully applied for the estimation of the studied drugs in their single pharmaceutical dosage forms and simultaneously in spiked human plasma.Part V. A rapid and selective UPLC method was developed and validated for the simultaneous estimation of remdesivir, molnupiravir, apixaban, and levofloxacin. The method was successfully applied for the determination of the investigated rugs in their single pharmaceutical dosage forms and simultaneously in spiked human plasma.
