Abstract
The study showed the effect of adding a protein skimmer in the aquaponic system on water quality, performance of red tilapia and mint growth performance. The experiment consists of two treatments, one of which does not contain a protein skimmer and the other is supported with a protein skimmer. The fish density was 60 fish/m3 in each system, and the mint density was 120 seedlings/treatment. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the two treatments in water quality and plant and fish growth. Adding a protein skimmer to aquaponic systems results in many advantages in water quality, fish growth performance, and plant growth performance.
