المستخلص Electronic learning environments are alternative learning environments to traditional physical environments, by using the capabilities of Information Communication Technology to design, manage, evaluate, and develop various learning processes. The importance of electronic learning environments lies in the fact that they provide instructional services to all categories of learners, and also go beyond the instructional problems related to traditional learning environments. They contribute to continuous learning processes. In addition, they support new learning methods that depend on the learner and focus on his abilities and potentials, as they allow learner immediate access to information at the place and time he wants. Gamification is one of the most important instructional technology innovations that can be integrated into electronic learning environments. Deterding, et al. (2011, pp. 2425-2428) explained that gamification depends on the use of gaming technologies and thinking games in applications rather than gaming; it used them to engage learners in the instructional process. |
