Abstract
Diacyl and/or aroylmethane azodyes (1-30( were prepared by coupling diacyl and/or aroylmethane with the appropriate diazonium salt in dilute ethanol containing 4% sodium acetate solution cooled in an ice-salt bath. Cyclisation of these arylazo derivatives of diacyl and/or aroylmethane (1-30) with hydrazine hydrate in glacial acetic acid at 5°c afforded 4-arylazopyrazoles (31-60).
