Abstract
The purpose of the present work was to exploit these characteristic features of ethyl 3,5-diaryl-2-cyclo-hexen-1-one-6-carboxylate (2) towards the synthesis of novel chemical structures; along the following lines : a)Condensation reactions with hydrazines, thiourea, aromatic amines and diamines. b)Michael reaction of β-keto-ester (2) with unsaturated ketones. c)Ring expansion reactions. d)Photochemical reactions.
