Abstract
The interesting pharmacological properties of benzopyran, pyridine and pyrimidine derivatives led us to synthesize new compounds having a combination of these moieties in order to get new structures that are expected to posses marked medicinal properties. Part I : Synthesis of substituted benzopyr anopyridopyrimidine. The reaction of 3-methoxy-5-nitrosalicylaldehyde (I) with malonoitrile and ammonium acetate in ethanol gave 3-cyano-2-imino-8-methoxy-6-nitrocoumarin (II).
