Abstract
Reaction with acetic anhydride : when (I) was refluxed with acetic anhydride , the acetyl derivative (III)was isolated. Reaction with dimethylsulphate in presence of sodium hydroxide, the methyl derivative (IV) was separated. Action of grignard reagent on (II a-c) : when (II) was treated with phenylmagnesium bromide or methylmagnesium iodide, the products XV were obtained.
