Abstract
The excessive world demands for food, raw materials for fiber and drug industries, create many economic problems. These problems are rather difficult in the developing countries of the arid and semi-arid regions having dense populations and limited natural resources. Most of these countries posses vast saline lands which are not productive. The reclamation and improvement of these lands may change them to be productive areas.
