Abstract Tipuana speciosa Benth, in one of the cultivated trees belonging to the great family Leguminosae, inhabiting Tanta - Cairo road, Damietta and Assiut districts. The macromorphology, duration and geographical distribution of the plant was studied. Soil analysis revealed that soil texture supporting T. speciosa ranged between sandy, loamy sand, sandy loam and loamy. Breaking dormancy of seeds was carried out using mechanical and chemical scarifications. Treatment with growth regulating substances, and subjection to different levels of constant temperature, or alternating high and low temperatures were carried out. The effect of depth of sowing was sudied also. |
