Abstract
About 7% of the total suface area of the world is covered by salt affected lands. Although the arable portion of this sizeable area is not exactly know. It is estimated that more than 50% of all irrigated lands of the world have been damaged by secondary salinization and / or sodication and water logging (Massoud, 1977).
