Abstract
The present investigation was carried out at Damietta estuary from Faraskour dam to the mouth of estuary (20km), from 1st June 1985 to 15th May 1986. Two, ecologically different, sampling stations were chosen lengthwise the study area. Bi-weekly samples of water were taken for measurement of phytoplankton, chlorophylls, as well as physical and chemical parameters. Furthermore, monthly enrichment bio-assays were carried out using natural water with its natural population during the study year.
