Abstract
The present work involves an extensive study on chitinase activities of some microorganisms isolated from Egyption soil. The results obtained are summarized in the followings: Throughout this study thirty four species belonging to eighteen genera were isolated as chitin decomposing fungi namely; Aspergillus fumigatus, A. flavus, A. versicolor, A. sydowii, A. ochraceus, A. terreus, A. nidulans, A. candidus, A. niger, A. carneus, A. sulphureus.
