Abstract Coastal sabkhas in the area located in the northern part of the Nile Delta between latitudes 30° 30’, 31° 30’ N and longitudes 30° and 32° 30’ E have been chosen for study. The studied sabkhas in general lie within the Mediterranean coastal zones of Egypt, where a little rainfall occurs in winter. These sabkhas are generally composed of sand, silt and clay beside disseminated crystals of evaporites like halite, Gypsum and occasional dolomite. |
