Abstract

Sinai peninsula is approximately 61000 square kilometers with a relatively small population. The major obstacle against any further developments of Sinai have always been the limited availability of water resources. A wide variety of exploration activities have been conducted. Shallow and deep wells drilling have been executed. Instruments have been installed to measure rainfall intensities and depths, wind velocities, etc. The data sets collected during the course of this study are relatively large. Also, most of the materials produced have been compiled. In Sinai peninsula, the present groundwater withdrawals mostly rely on shallow wells. In order to meet the increased water requirements, deep aquifers of high potentials must be fully exploited. Due to its significance as a major source future withdrawal, the Lower Cretaceous sandstone should be given a first priority. ThereforSubvarieties Of Steinerquasigroupse, the proposed exploratory wells are selected on the bases of their favorable topographic, stratigraphic and structural settings. The proposed drilling program will provide additional information about the direction of water flow and the groundwater occurrence of the Lower Cretaceous sandstone. This study work provided the geological units, the folds, faults and lineaments, and the drainage pattern of study area. These fundamentals are useful for the large scale appreciation of the natural resources and environment of the study area, and also for the elaboration of study of its development in various fields of constructions, engineering, hydrology, irrigation, agriculture and reclamation U+0085 etc. The selected area of the first priority for development a very large unexploited natural resources in connection with availability of water and characteristics.
