Abstract The main objectives of the present work are to define more precisely the major late Quaternary geologic features in the northeastern Nile Delta. This study, ultimately would have is reflection on the deduction of the geoenvironmental conditions of the area for better sustainable development with conservation of the environment and its archaeological heritage. Therefore, the detailed delineation of the Quaternary geology of the northeastern Nile Delta is of prime importance for any development in this area. The study area (900Km²) is bounded at the north by El - Salam Canal carries Nile water to Sinai ; at the west by Handousa and Bahr Saft drains and at the east and south by Bahr El - Baqr drain and El - Salhiya plain. |
