Abstract We investigate here the development of a discharge in a discharge gap of a high voltage coaxial air switch. The time characteristics of the triggering switches and comparison between three types of electrodes (flat, cone and with a hole) are also investigated. The pre-ionized plasma in the shock tube is established by a hollow Z-pinch. the electron temperature ang dinsity as well as heating mechanism of the pre-ionized hydrogen gas in the shock tube are investigated. |
