Abstract
In this work, the best operating conditions for the single wire spark counter were investigated by studying the different factors affecting the change in the corona volume around the wire which in turn affects the efficiency and stability of the counter. These factors are : 1- The quenching resistance R. 2- The electrode separation. 3- The nature and pressure of the filling gas. 4- The effect of humidity.
