Abstract
Adetailed theoretical study is made for ; the duoplasmatron ion source plasma, the plasma diffusion, and the plasma energy distribution, in addition to the study of the electrical probes theory. This is followed by an experimental investigation for the dependence of the plasma density - at different locations in the expansion cup - on the duoplasmatron ion source parameters, (arc voltage, magnetic field and gas pressure). Also, a complete experimental study is made for the axial and radial plasma density distributions besides the energy distribution under the influence of the ion source parameters.
